The property was named after Roderick Clark, who purchased the waterfront land in 1872. Roderick was a Civil War veteran. Clarks Landing Marina soon became a spot for families from all over New Jersey to picnic, boat, swim and vacation.
The first visitors to the waterfront resort on the Manasquan River had to complete their trip by horse and buggy. When they arrived they found themselves surrounded by beautiful scenery and the many activities the shore had to offer. While Roderick Clark ran the boat business, his son, Rosia built up and handled the entertainment. Attractions at Clarks Landing have included a steam organ, an electric merry-go-round; a steam powered ice-cream machine, dances, and sailboat races. The Clarks Landing Yacht Club was purchased in 1981 by the Truesdale family. Since then the family has provided quality service to all its guests.

Dear Don,
I am still overwhelmed with emotion and simply amazed at the beautiful wedding day we had.
We really can not thank you enough for making our wedding day so special. It was everything that I dreamed it woul be and more.
The atmosphere was elegant! The food was simply sensational!!! Our guests are still talking about the fine cuisine...from the cocktail hour, the dinner to the Venetian display! Especially the generous portions at dinner...very impressive.
